About Course

Course Description

This course is designed to prepare prospective teachers for the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) by building a solid understanding of Curriculum Studies and Teaching Methods at the Primary Education level. Learners will explore key concepts such as the meaning of curriculum and syllabus, the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the Ghana Primary Curriculum, types and components of curriculum, and essential curriculum terminologies. The course also highlights the core competencies learners are expected to develop under Ghana’s competency-based curriculum.

In addition, the course equips candidates with practical knowledge of effective teaching methods, including teacher-centered and learner-centered approaches, factors influencing the choice of teaching methods, and how both approaches work together to enhance lesson delivery. Real classroom examples and GTLE-style questions are used to strengthen understanding and examination readiness.
