This comprehensive course is carefully designed to prepare prospective and practicing teachers to successfully pass the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) in line with the National Teachers’ Standards (NTS).
The course provides in-depth coverage of the three core domains assessed in the GTLE—Professional Values and Attitudes, Professional Knowledge, and Professional Practice—as well as the English Language and Numeracy components required for licensure.
Learners will gain a strong understanding of teacher professionalism, ethics, leadership, and continuous professional development, alongside essential knowledge of Ghana’s education system, curriculum reforms, learning theories, child development, and assessment practices. The course also equips candidates with practical classroom management and teaching strategies suitable for inclusive and learner-centred classrooms.
In addition, the course offers focused preparation in English Language (grammar, usage, comprehension, and error identification) and Numeracy (number, algebra, geometry, statistics, and probability), using GTLE-style questions, real classroom scenarios, and exam-tested strategies.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
Demonstrate professional values, ethical conduct, and reflective teaching practices
Apply professional knowledge aligned with Ghana’s educational policies and curriculum
Manage classrooms effectively and implement learner-centred teaching strategies
Design valid and reliable assessments to support student learning
Use correct English grammar and communication skills required for teaching
Apply mathematical concepts confidently to solve GTLE numeracy questions
This course is ideal for new graduates, in-service teachers, and resit candidates who want a structured, self-paced, and exam-focused pathway to passing the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination with confidence.
