This course is a comprehensive and in-depth preparation programme designed to equip teacher trainees and practicing teachers with the essential knowledge and skills required to excel in Junior High School Integrated Science and successfully pass the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE).
The course covers all major Integrated Science themes prescribed by the National Teaching Council, including agriculture, biology, environmental science, health science, and physical science. Learners will gain a strong understanding of scientific concepts such as soil and water conservation, ecosystems, heredity, reproduction, digestion, energy, force and pressure, magnetism, infectious diseases, weather and climate, photosynthesis, and nutrition.
Emphasis is placed on conceptual understanding, application, and analysis, reflecting how questions are structured in the GTLE. Through detailed teacher-level explanations, real-life examples relevant to the Ghanaian context, diagrams, and scenario-based questions, learners will develop the confidence to both answer licensure examination questions effectively and teach Integrated Science competently in the classroom.
By the end of this course, learners will not only be well-prepared for the GTLE but will also possess the pedagogical confidence and subject mastery required of a professional Junior High School science teacher.
