This course explores self, self-identity, and human capabilities, helping learners understand their personal strengths, set realistic goals, and achieve their potential. It examines how self-identity—shaped by beliefs, values, attitudes, behaviours, and experiences—affects thoughts, emotions, and actions. Learners will also study false identity, its causes, and consequences such as identity crisis, social conflict, and loss of respect.
The course also covers adolescent reproductive health, focusing on ages 10–19, reproductive rights, and responsible sexual behaviour. It addresses irresponsible adolescent behaviours—such as unsafe sex, substance abuse, criminal activity, and academic malpractice—and their consequences, including teenage pregnancy, STIs/STDs, school dropout, depression, and social misfit.
Finally, learners will explore safety measures to protect adolescent health, including personal hygiene, medical care, exercise, guidance, and counselling. Through analysis and application, learners will develop the ability to make informed decisions, promote healthy behaviour, and enhance personal development.
